Fotonovelas were created from an idea spurred from focus groups conducted at the Centro de la Comunidad Unida - United Community Center (UCC) in collaboration with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Latinos from the community expressed concerns around health and wellness, so UCC worked with MCW and members of the community to create fotonovelas to address these concerns. Fotonovelas are a popular style of novel among Latinos and contain story lines and pictures focusing on health.
